Moto G Android 4.4.2 KitKat update arrives in India, Complete Changelog documented
Closely following the release of Android 4.4.2 KitKat in Malaysia, the much anticipated update has finally hit the dual-SIM Moto G smartphone in India.
The update (v 171.44.31.en.03) which weighs 230.7 MB in size is available over-the-air, however if you haven't received the notification yet, you can update it manually by following the process below:
1. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
2. Select "About phone"
3. Select "System updates"
4. Select "Download". After the software is downloaded, select "Install"
5. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically

As mentioned before the update brings in a slew of features like new phone dialer application, new photo editing in gallery, 'Google Hangouts' support for SMS/MMS in addition to other improvements and enhancements. The full change-log is listed below:
- Android 4.4, KitKat – Enhancements such as restyled status and navigation bars, a new full-screen mode, color emoji support, improved closed captioning support, stronger security, smarter power use, and more tools and capabilities for better app development.
- Phone dialer – Improved phone app with the ability to look up contacts directly from the dial pad, see and tap frequent contacts, and search your corporate directory easily.
- Camera – Locked exposure during Panorama capture, additional language support, Manual control of focus and exposure, Bug fixes
- Gallery – New photo editing options including new filter effects, draw on your photos, advanced cropping, and adjustments to color, exposure, contrast and more.
- Printing documents and pictures – Support for printing photos, Google Docs, GMail messages, and other content via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and hosted services like Google Cloud Print and HP ePrinters.
- Hangouts – SMS/MMS support Incorporated a new version of Google Hangouts that supports integrated SMS/MMS messaging. Hangouts can be set as the default SMS app under Settings > Wireless > Default SMS app.

Moto G to receive Android 4.4.2 KitKat update within a week in India
Motorola's comeback vehicle Moto G has stirred by the Indian budget smartphone market. The powerful Android device is not only credited for bringing in some pretty decent specs at a budget price but will soon be the most up to date Android device launched in India so far.
According to Motorola India's spokesperson the company is set to release the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Moto G in India within a week.
The device is currently retailing exclusively on Flipkart for Rs 12,499 for the 8GB version and Rs 13,999 for the 16GB. Within 15 minutes of its launch in India, both versions of the phone were sold out. While there is no confirmation on the exact numbers it appears that Flipkart sold around units of the 16GB version and 14,800 units of the 8GB version within an hour yesterday.
